Below are details of upcoming kayak fishing or fly fishing events that you might be interested to attend.

The Annual Grand River Bass Tourney (Fly Fishing Division)

Location:  Grand River in Kitchener

Dates:  Saturday, July 4 & Sunday, July 5 in 2009.  The 2010 dates will be posted once they’ve been announced but it will likely be the weekend of July 3 & 4.

Species:  smallmouth bass only

Open to:  anyone

Tournament Base:  Bingeman Park, Kitchener

The Annual Ontario Kayak Fishing Classic (OKFC)

Location:  Lake Kashagawigamog, very near the town of Halliburton

Dates:  Saturday, July 11 & Sunday, July 12 in 2009.  The 2010 dates will be published once they’ve been announced but it will likely be the weekend of July 10 & 11.

Species:  Smallmouth bass.

Open to:  Human powered craft and shore anglers only – no motor boats of any type allowed.

Nomad River Smallie Weekend

Location:  The Maitland and Saugeen Rivers in the far west of southwestern Ontario.

Dates:  Saturday, August 22 & Sunday, August 23, 2009.

Open to:  Kayak fishing only.

Tournament base:  Nomad Adventure Tours properties in Wingham and Goderich.
